Answers to common Telegram copier questions
Everything you need to know about setup, licensing, and MT4/MT5 execution.
Does the copier keep running if the browser is closed?
Yes. In cloud dashboard mode, the Telegram session stays active on the server and continues ingesting signals. In Windows Client mode, keep the Windows app running on the PC or VPS that owns the Telegram session.
Is MT4 supported or only MT5?
Both MT4 and MT5 are supported. Download the MT4 or MT5 SignalReader EA from the Downloads page and attach it to your terminal.
Which EA version should I use?
Use SignalReader v6.6 for new setups. It is the latest public EA build for MT4 and MT5 and includes AI Risk Copilot broker preflight, protected execution leases, corrected MT4 lease recovery, Auto Partial Close, Grid Recovery, cloud-synced risk controls, editable bridge URL, and live safety telemetry.
How does the EA receive signals?
The EA uses MetaTrader WebRequest to poll the bridge/API and pull the next pending trade command. It then executes the signal inside your own MT4 or MT5 terminal.
What WebRequest URL should I add in MetaTrader?
For dashboard website mode, allow https://telegramtomt5copier.com. For Windows Client mode, also add http://127.0.0.2 because the EA reads from the local bridge on your PC or VPS.
What is the Windows Client?
The Windows Client is a local desktop app for the PC or VPS where Telegram and MetaTrader are running. It listens to Telegram locally, syncs settings with the dashboard, and provides the local bridge URL for the EA.
What is the difference between Cloud mode and Windows Client mode?
In Cloud mode, Telegram login and signal listening are handled by the website dashboard. In Windows Client mode, Telegram login and listening are handled by the Windows app while channels, settings, and status sync back to the dashboard.
Can I use MetaAPI instead of the EA?
Yes. Active copier users can use the dedicated MetaAPI dashboard page to connect their own MetaAPI subscription for cloud execution without running the EA on a VPS. Parsing and routing still run through this platform, but trade execution is sent to MetaAPI. MetaAPI billing is separate and managed by you at metaapi.cloud.
Is MetaAPI included in my copier subscription?
No. Copier packages include access to this website's MetaAPI connector. The user still creates, manages, and pays for their own MetaAPI account directly at metaapi.cloud.
Which MetaAPI option should I subscribe to?
Choose the core MetaApi cloud forex API for MetaTrader 4/5 accounts. For most users connecting one normal MT account, MetaAPI's Regular subscription is the right starting point. Extended is only needed if you require higher limits, dedicated servers, or priority support.
Do I need CopyFactory, MetaTrader Manager API, Risk Management API, or MetaStats?
No. Those are separate MetaAPI products for other use cases. This copier connects to a user's own MT4/MT5 account through the core MetaApi API, so those extra products are not required for this MetaAPI connector.
What do I need from MetaAPI before connecting it?
You need a MetaAPI account with an active subscription, an MT4 or MT5 account added and deployed in MetaAPI, the MetaAPI account ID, an access token for that account, and the closest MetaAPI REST region enabled for this copier.
Which MetaAPI token should I use?
Use an account access token for the specific MT account when possible. Keep the token private, never share it publicly, and replace it if you believe it has been exposed.
Should I test MetaAPI with a demo account first?
Yes. Demo testing is strongly recommended before live trading. Confirm signal parsing, symbol mapping, lot sizing, SL/TP behavior, and risk settings before switching a live account to MetaAPI execution.
Do I still need the EA when using MetaAPI execution?
No. MetaAPI execution sends trades through MetaAPI instead of the EA bridge for that linked account. You still use the dashboard for Telegram parsing, routing, risk settings, logs, and account mapping.
Does the Windows Client need to stay open?
Yes. If you choose Windows Client mode, keep the app running so it can listen to Telegram, sync with the cloud, and serve the local bridge to MT4 or MT5.
Can I still use the dashboard when using the Windows Client?
Yes. The dashboard remains useful for viewing status, reviewing synced channels, adjusting settings, checking downloads, billing, logs, and monitoring the Windows Client connection.
Can settings and selected channels sync between the dashboard and Windows app?
Yes. Windows Client mode syncs selected Telegram sources, routing, settings, and device status with the cloud dashboard so both sides show the same setup.
How do I switch back from Windows Client mode to Cloud Telegram mode?
Open the Telegram page in the dashboard and use the Switch back to Cloud Telegram mode button. After that, reconnect Telegram from the dashboard.
Can I use the website dashboard and EA without the Windows app?
Yes. You can run in Cloud mode with the website dashboard and the MT4/MT5 EA. The Windows Client is optional for users who want Telegram listening and the bridge to run locally.
Can I connect multiple Telegram channels?
Yes. You can connect multiple Telegram groups or channels and map them to the MT accounts that should receive those signals.
What are the plan limits?
Starter includes 1 MT account, 3 Telegram groups/channels, and 3 settings profiles. Pro includes 3 MT accounts, 10 groups/channels, and 10 profiles. Premium includes 10 MT accounts, 30 groups/channels, 30 profiles, and AI Recognition. Enterprise includes unlimited MT accounts, unlimited groups/channels, unlimited profiles, and AI Recognition. The MetaAPI connector is available to active users, but MetaAPI itself is bought and managed separately by the customer.
Can one signal be sent to multiple MT accounts?
Yes. Signals can be routed to multiple linked MT accounts, and each account can use its own lot sizing, risk, symbol, and execution settings.
Can I adjust risk without editing the EA?
Yes. Lot size, risk settings, stops, trailing, symbol mapping, reply actions, and Grid Recovery settings are managed from the dashboard settings page and sync to the bridge.
What is Keyword only signal detection?
Keyword only mode accepts exact buy and sell phrases, such as B now for BUY and S now for SELL by default. It ignores SL/TP from the message and uses your configured default symbol.
What is AI Recognition?
AI Recognition helps read messy Telegram signal formats, captions, and screenshots so the copier can normalize them into executable trade instructions.
Which plans include AI Recognition?
Premium and Enterprise include AI Recognition. Approved IB Lifetime access can also use AI Recognition.
Do you support images and screenshots?
Yes. AI Recognition can help read signal screenshots and image captions when the feature is available on the active plan.
What is Live Signal Journey?
Live Signal Journey is a Windows Client diagnostics view that follows a signal through Telegram received, parsed, routed, EA pulled, and trade opened stages, including failures and timing.
What does Connection Health Center show?
Connection Health Center checks cloud sync, Telegram session, signal listener, local bridge, and EA activity so users can quickly see what needs attention before copying signals.
What is Performance Studio?
Performance Studio shows account performance snapshots such as balance, equity, profit, drawdown, signal activity, execution count, and live chart views when the EA is sending account data.
What is Grid Recovery?
Grid Recovery can open extra recovery trades when price moves against the original signal. The dashboard settings include max grid orders, start distance, step distance, lot coefficient, and total lot caps.
Can Telegram replies trigger close half or breakeven?
Yes. The settings page includes close half keys and breakeven keys. When enabled, matching reply keywords can queue management commands for linked MT accounts.
What happens when a license expires?
The bridge becomes inactive and the EA stops receiving valid trade commands until the subscription or approved access is active again.
Is there a free trial?
No. We do not offer a free trial.
Do you store Telegram passwords?
No. Telegram login is session based. The platform does not store your Telegram password.
Is a VPS required?
For EA bridge execution, a VPS or always-on PC is recommended because MetaTrader must stay online. For MetaAPI execution, no VPS is needed for the copier's trade execution path because orders are sent through the user's own MetaAPI subscription.
Which IP address appears at the broker when trades are opened?
Trades are opened by your MT4 or MT5 terminal, so the broker sees the IP address of the PC or VPS running that terminal, not the website server IP.
What should I check if the Local Bridge shows an error?
Make sure the Windows Client is running, the EA Bridge API base URL is set to http://127.0.0.2, MetaTrader WebRequest allows http://127.0.0.2, and no other local app is blocking the bridge port.
How do I cancel or change plan?
Use the Stripe customer portal from the dashboard billing controls to cancel, renew, or change your plan.
How do I get help?
Use the live chat on the website or contact support at support@telegramtomt5copier.com for setup, billing, or copier troubleshooting.
